•Graduating high school seniors may apply for the scholarship which is valid for use ONLY at State Fair Community College for the A.A.S degree in Building Materials Merchandising.
•While there is no strict scholarship application deadline, applicants are reviewed on a first come, first served basis, with a limited number of scholarships available. Therefore, early submission of materials is recommended.
•Tuition is covered, but students will be responsible for all living expenses, books, and school supplies.
•Full-time summer employment at Meek’s Building Center after high school is considered part of the program. Full-time summer employment at Meek’s the following summer is also a part of the program and will be accepted by State Fair Community College as fulfillment of the student’s internship requirements. Students may work over breaks as well if they so desire and have approval from their store manager.
•A ‘B’ average must be maintained each semester in order for a student to continue to qualify for the scholarship.
•Meek’s Building Centers will be responsible for the final selection of students to this program.
•While the student is not obligated to accept employment with Meek’s Building Centers after completion of the A.A.S. degree, full-time employment may be offered to successful graduates of the program.

Co-op Expectations and Application



•You will be expected to perform the duties assigned to you in a professional manner.
•You must show enthusiasm in projects and an indication of potential staying power.
•GPA will be a selection consideration.
•You must be working toward a degree in a field of study that relates to Meek's.
•You must be a full-time student during regular semesters.
•Part-time employees must work a minimum of 20 hours per week. More may be offered based on management/student agreement. Most students work full time during the summer months.
•Those students selected to participate in this program will be placed in stores or the general office with available positions. Since the positions are part-time, the work location will be one near your home or school.
